Xiaomi released its new Hyper OS operating system on October
17th, 2023. The operating system standard replaces MIUI since it offers contemporary features and supports every Xiaomi device beginning with smartphone models right up to Internet-of-Things technology.
Background of Hyper OS Development:
- The development team at Xiaomi created Xiaomi Vela OS during 2017 by choosing NuttX to be the operating system foundation for their IoT devices.
- Xiaomi launched Mi OS as its new microkernel-based operating system during 2019.
- The company launched development on its in-house core operating system for its ecosystem during 2021.
- The company implemented different platform solutions in its Hyper OS system during 2022.
Key Features of Hyper OS:
- Hyper OS operates through the combination of the Linux kernel framework and Xiaomi Vela technology.
- The system establishes instant and continuous device networking to maintain marking speed between devices.
- The system enables proficient sharing of resources to optimise performance levels.
Official Release:
The official launch of Hyper OS took place on October 26, 2023, during the Xiaomi 14 smartphone series product release event. Starting from 2024, MIUI will no longer be available on any Xiaomi devices.
Why Was Hyper OS Created?
- The objective with Hyper OS creation involved building a single operating system to unite all Xiaomi devices so that mobile phones share connectivity with IoT products and hardware devices properly.
